Stitching frame stand for table or lap

Description

A versatile, well-made open-sided stand and support to hold your stitching project while you work hands-free! With a large stable base made of Maple, this stand will stay in place while you work. You can use a single straight arm or the two provided arms to place your work just where you want it. A large clamp will accommodate a wide variety of frames, hoops, or stretcher bars.

This stand comes with:
• the base (17 x 40 cm / 6.75 x 16”)
• hardware for assembly with instructions
• a 15 cm / 6″ sidebar
• a 25 cm / 10″ sidebar
• one versatile clamp (16 x 10 x 12 cm / 6 x 4 x 5”) with capacity up to 3 cm / 1.25”

The rotary joint allows full access to both sides of your project. The clamp has a single tightening knob and a stabiliser shaft. The sidebars are optimised to allow the entire assembly to be collapsed for transport or storage without disassembly.

You will notice that all tensioning knobs are in only two planes, and they are sized for easy use. The only exposed shafts are on the top of the clamp where they are visible. The underside of the clamp is clear, so there will be no hidden snagging.

All wood is Maple, with Poplar or or other domestic North American wood used for dowels and shafts. All parts are sanded to 120, the base to 220. The lower smoothness of the clamp and sidebars assists in maintaining selected positions. The sidebars and base are finished with a coat of Hard Wax Oil. The clamp is left unfinished to avoid any staining or contamination of your work. Unless specified by you, we will ship matching parts from our inventory. For example, your stand will be all Maple, but may also feature Spalted Maple or otherwise figured sidebars and clamp. Since each stand is hand-made, please expect yours to be unique.
